Forensic Email Collector

Metaspike, Inc. (“Metaspike”, “we”, “us”, “our”) develops the Forensic Email Collector software (“Software”). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Software, and the choices you have associated with that data.

Types of Data Collected

Our Software is an installed application that runs on the end user’s computer system. If you purchase our Software with the soft license key option, we collect your IP address and anonymized computer hardware ID during license activation. We use this data to validate your license key and to lock it to the computer where the Software is installed.

If you purchase our Software with the USB hardware dongle license option, license activation takes place offline on your computer and we do not collect any personal information from you while you use our Software.

When you use our Software to forensically preserve mailboxes, the data that our Software acquires from mailboxes such as email messages, calendar items, notes, and contacts, is stored on your computer systems and is not shared with anyone or transmitted to Metaspike. by our Software.

Yahoo / AOL User Data

Our Software runs on the end-user’s device. Therefore, Metaspike does not come in contact with the end-user’s Yahoo / AOL data and does not use the end-user’s Yahoo / AOL data in any way.

For clarity, our Software does not transfer the end-user’s Yahoo / AOL data to Metaspike or other third parties. Our Software does not use the data to create audience or user targeting segments for advertising, profiling for content personalization, monetization, or email engagement tracking purposes or for other purposes not directly related to the user-facing functionality.

Google User Data

Our Software interacts with your Google user data as follows:

Access

Once you grant permission, our Software accesses your Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Calendar data for forensic preservation. Our software does not change your Google user data; it only reads it.

Store

During the forensic preservation, your acquired Google user data is stored on your computer system in the output folder that you designated and stays under your own control.

Use

By performing a forensic acquisition, our Software makes your Google user data available to you for legal use. Our Software does not use your Google user data for any other purpose.

Share

Our Software does not share your Google user data with us or any third party.

Google User Data Protection Disclosures

While using our Software, you retain control of your Google user data. Metaspike does not have access to your Google user data.

Google User Data Retention Disclosures

Metaspike does not have access to your Google user data, nor does it retain or store your Google user data. While using our Software, your Google user data remains under your control at all times and you can choose to delete it at any time by removing your own Google user data from your own computer systems.

Children’s Privacy

Our Software does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.
